The relationship I have to the natural world on and off sometimes I love the world and sometimes I hate the world mostly because of the way it looks but recently I have started to enjoy and love the world around me.I would normally go the park or the city to see landscapes but mostly the city because they have a lot of landscapes.i think the reason why most people take pictures of nature because nature is beautiful it defines the world and its creations its a natural thing is everywhere you go there is also an aesthetic vide with nature which is very calming which is why a lot of people love to be in nature. Photographs can help us change the way we see things because when I heard the the word "nature" I think of old trees and plain boring grass but when I saw pictures of nature I saw so much more into it personally pictures defines the meaning to subject it gives a lot more background information than we already see.
When i hear the world "landscape" I think of different types of building close together and nature such as trees and flowers on a field. The first couple of words that pop into my head when i hear the word "landscape" is :building ,Aesthetics colourful, sunset, flowers, Fields, waterfalls and hills.when i google the world landscapes the first thing that comes up is a bunch of building and greenery such as trees in a field and more. My ideal landscape would be a field full of flowers and trees and hills. My landscape when i look outside my bedroom is a big field with tall trees and hills. I have taken many pictures of different landscapes and they look like tall buildings and the reason why i take these are because they look really nice and interesting to look at.
When i search up the word "landscapes"
Todays lesson i went around the school taking pictures of different landscapes so i decided to go the field because during the time it was summer time so the nature would have been bright and colourful as you could see. I didn't take that much pictures as i wanted to because there wasn't enough things i could see as i did have a restricted area since i didn't like the outcome of the photos i decided to seek further and stick to once one colour which i chose was green the reason for this i wanted to try expand the knowledge i had one one image and combined it into another.
On the first photograph they haven’t chose a composition they have chosen dark and old colours as it. And the other one the composition she chose a cowboy as the composition. the relationships they had is that she had high points low points to the pictures which made it seem high up but its really not. the first picture looks like it was taken from a high point but it seams like it seems like it was taken from a low point and the second photography was taken from a good angle and a low point the feeling that this pictures gives to me is a very calm feeling and the second one gives me.the pictures make me seem like im far away from the photos like the cowboy one seams like is up in the air because of the clouds and the other photo is taken a straight point. the relationship they have with the photos it that they have a wide frame. they excluded the things around them they don't have likes tree and other crops inside the frame. the communication is that

In this photograph they have chosen to focus on the composition which is just the dirt on the floor most of the picture is made up of dirt and nothing else i also think that he has waited till the wind was blowing to take the picture because i can see that the rocks have like an moving effect on it to. i also think the picture was taking at a straight ahead point because of the way. the angle is but he zoomed in on the camera but it also seam like we are really close to the picture it also looks like its a wide frame picture of how it was taken. |

- i would describe the pictures as flat shaped content they are both based on a flat surface which is the beach the texture of the water in the pictures are the same they look like they have the same texture of the waves. The picture on the left looks very dull and boring it doesn’t look every eye catching there is not really nothing to say about the picture other than its look like its from a documentary like from the world war or something or it was taken in the night but someone has placed a filter over it the words i would describe it would be very boring, symbolic and unpleasant it just something that i wouldn’t go out my way to go look at. Th second photo look very interesting it make want to find out more and explore the photograph it has more colour than the other one but the one thing that makes me like it the most is how the picture looks like some of the parts were burned which looks very good it makes me want to know if there was a story behind the picture or does it have a meaning.
- The texture of the water looks more realistic than the first photo the shapes look more abstract the way it is constructed makes it more interesting the words i would use to describe the photo would be very eye catching, dramatic and different if i had to choose where to live between the two is the second photo with the blanked out piece the reason would be because it makes me want to find out more like what else is it going to be when raining the pictures turned out to be very good but there is a little improvement tha

Evaluation of Dionne Lee video
I really like this video from dionne lee because i like how she took her time while ripping the pictures and folding them she also didn’t t really think about what she was doing she just let it be natural i also like how she used natural lighting with it aswell the only thing i didn’t like about it was that i don’t t like how she used the same colours for the pictures it would have been better if she used different images and ripping shapes it would have been better also if she used different nature pictures to . if i was to do something better i would have used a different background like a blue or orange background. |

My video of remaking Dionne Lee work
Evaluation
These pictures would be even better if i took more pictures because i took quite a few but they are just the same nothing is really different.I would describe these pictures as very green and spaced out images it would have looks much better if i added the landscape that i took in front of it to make it look like a background behind the picture.whats really effective about this photos is that these picture would bring out the landscape picture really well because of the colour is a mix of primary colour secondary colours.i would describe these pictures as spaced out, green, lots of bushes. The most interesting this about these photos is the bushes this is because the really pops out especially because its summer.
I think my film is very good i like how it turned out and the music fits in so well the images in my video i got them from books but different types of art books some are from newspapers and the others are from famous art books that are old if i had time to add more pictures i would have added more of them but different colours make like a orange colour or green maybe just dull colours to make the picture more eye popping. If i had to remove anything from the video would be the ripping of the pictures i don't really like how the white part looks in it makes it seem really ugly but i would improve this by adding a different background to it make like a bright blue or a dark orange.
Out of focus photographs

For this task we were asked to use our phones task was to go around the school outside and take pictures of different out of focus landscapes to recreate Dionne Lee pictures. I found the task hard to begin with because i wasn't focusing and paying attention to the work but now i understand the work and found it very good and easy and very fun to i even found out a new way to take out of focus pictures using my phone the technique i used was ae/af lock which is This feature lets you lock automatic and flash exposure and the results turned out amazing i'm really happy with it even though some of the pictures didn't come out as out of focus but it still turned out good. If i could improve on one with it would be the way i took the pictures i really should of tried to take pictures in different angles i would think it have came out better i also could have taken the pictures in a different light error maybe like a dark mode one with the flash on i feel like it would have turned out even more better than the others but overall i'm really impressed and proud of how my photos came out.

Evaluation of my favourite photo.
If i had to choose one picture which would have been my favourite it would be this one because i really like how it turned out compared to the other photographs it doesn't even look like i took the pictures on my phone using my camera it looks like i used a professional camera i also just like how its a picture of a basket ball net the colours as well make the pictures very eye catching. The texture of the photograph is really cook i feel like in the future i would take lots more pictures using the out of focus setting and maybe during the night time to because i feel like the pictures would have turned out even more better with the flash on as well. This photograph would have been even better if i maybe didn't get my finger in the background and also if the picture of the ring was in even more focus and the background was blurred but overall it was good. |
Things i like about Ray Metzkers work
- I like how the pictures are in black and white
- I like how the pictures have people in the photos
- I like how there are shadows in the background
- I like how he saw landscapes as a spiritual place
- Like how there is different objects in the pictures
- I like how all the pictures are eye catching and dull
- I like how he doesn't use bright, vibrant colours in his work because i fell like it brings out the picture even more
- If i was to recreate this i would take pictures in a landscapes and add different things into the frame.

I looked at the photographs of Ray Metzker and the photograph that I liked the most is the one of the landscapes, which was hidden like how my pictures turned out i think that when i actually focus on the work it will come out good i like how i used the circle to frame out the pictures I personally thing that was the best one out of all the objects in my photos if i had to change something in my work i would change the background object on some of them for example i would change the light bulb because even though the picture came out good i would change it to something more filling like a crunched up piece of paper or coloured paper i didn't want to put my photo's in black and white because i wanted to do my own style plus i don't really like pictures in black and white.

I decided to remake jon divola work by using some of my own pictures i found in old articles the theme i was going for was different to his he using very dull and dark colours in his work where else i used light colours and bright colours also dark to in mine and i really like how it turned out i think if i had to use anymore pictures to improve to improve my work i would normally do a all maybe like a dark yellow colour or even maybe try cut some out the pictures to make it more lively the last picture i used i took it all natural and i really like how it turned out i should have added it to my actual work because i think it would have added a bit of spicy into my pictures.

Charles wilkin
- He is a collage artist, beekeeper and designer
- He grew up in Grand Island, New York,
- He started to create his work and fell in love with Collage because it felt natural and I loved how spontaneous it could be and found inspiration in the challenge of making something out of nothing.
- He says A collage can be anything and there are no rules conceptually really that what made him more interesting
- He describes his work as very recognisable and a use of colours
- in most of her work he does a dreamy and realism
- He says the best part of making the collage is Finishing because It’s an exhilarating and euphoric moment of pure joy, calm and peacefulness.
- He says the hardest part is fumbling through the moments when a collage is not working and the answer seems lost or impossible to find
- He never rarely abandon a work because there’s always success in a “failure”. because once he does something he has to finish
- He says the thing thats makes him an artist and drives him forward is that it’s an innate desire to create, endless curiosity and a willingness to accept failure as part of the creative process.
Evaluation.
I had to recreate charles wilkin work so first i decided to choose 4 landscape pictures of my choice then i had to make different shapes and pictures to stick onto them i really like how these turned out because its very abstract and nothing that i would normally make but i like because i love to explore different types of things. if i would do anything to improve it i would choose a different background or try make more shapes out of the scrap papers to make it more abstract and i would also make the strap papers different colours.I think the best bit would have to be the layouts of the pictures that i had stuck on i think it really brings out the pictures even more and making it more eye catching further more i really enjoyed making these project because i think it brang out my creative side of me which i don’t normally do and i would prefer. i then decided to print the paper onto astatate and added colour which turned out to be amazing the colours i chose to do was blue and pink and red to it would have been even better if i the pictures came out a bit lighter but overall it came out really good.

Curtis Mann
The title of the image is called 'from modifications series'. This pictures looks likes it was taken in a face profile angle like an eye level the tones of the pictures are very different than normal type of picture that i have seen its very bright colours but i ca see a bit of dark colours in the background but it looks like its been developed.
This photograph shows many different things but the obvious is a woman that is standing which looks like to be in a field staring at something which i cant tell what it is but there is one thing that doesn't seem realistic to me is that shadows in the background which seems to be a cloud.
My first gut feeling when i see this photograph is that i was very eye catching and interesting which is why i chose this i wanted to investigate more about it i was a bit confused i had so many questions about his work like how he created it or why he created it.
This photograph was taken in 1979 in Chicago and i think it was taken because Curtis Mann wanted to show everyone how he created and how he expressed his ideas into one like he merged it all together because if i was to re make this photograph i wouldn't have thought that two different components would have been good compacted together.
Would this picture have effectiveness today?
I would say it would as soon as i saw this photograph i knew it was very different compared to other photographers in many ways he used different components and merged it into one and i think if other people would look at this they would think the same and they would probably have many question about it to.
Curtis Mann works with photographs taken by other people that he finds on the internet. He uses bleach to distort and change these found images, arranging them together to create large photographic landscapes.
I wouldn't think this photograph would be reliable or relevant to historical evidence because he has basically manipulated the photo because we can barely see anything.

When i first see this image my first gut feeling is that i was really amazed by what i have seen i was also really confused and had a lot of questions to such as how did he do this and why did he do this but also a good feeling about it because it is something that i have never seen before while studying photography.
The style of the picture is very different to what i have seen before it ever abstract in a kind of way but i can also see that these photo is very personal to the person i can also clearly see that he has taken these photography from different landscapes that really have a powerful and personal meaning to him and i think the reason why i think that he decided to develop it was because he wanted to tell and let everyone that when you recreate and develop pictures they have a much more powerful meaning to it. This picture has so much effect just this one picture says so much meaning to it. |
Matt Slater
This is from Matt Slater from his collection called 'Autumnal Glimpses ' . My first thought about this was that i really liked how this photograph came out its like she took a picture and then took different parts of the picture and switched it round but it shows a landscape which looks to be in a dessert or even a drawing that she has made with oil pastels and i think that this Matt took this picture because he has a really meaning to him which he has decided to develop the picture and add different lines to make it abstract. I feel like this effect had a big meaning but also has a deep dark meaning which he hasn't exposed yet maybe like a mystery behind it. Matt Slater is originally from south Africa but moved to east London Slater studied at the Cape Town School of Photography, where his experiments in the darkroom turned into a signature curation of “mistakes.” |

My work
I have decided to recreate Curtis Mann creation so i have found images from the websites from the effects of the Nigerian war has on there environment i wasn't able to personally take the photos because i didn't have access to Nigeria but i think these images i have chosen to experiment with are good but also i want to try and tell a story with these images like try invert these pictures and try tell them the way they were before the war i think it turned out better than i expected because i never thought it looked like it work but i'm really proud how it turned out its very different compared to his one which is why i liked it better. These photos turned into something personal which is why i chose them so i wanted make something out of them that would really mean something me.

During this process i had to invert the pictures i chose and change them to black and white i also had to go into the dark room and use the light to print the pictures onto the the big peices but at first i had to do sample ones to see if i got the right exposure.
Then once i had gotten the right exposure and poured some bleach on and different ways to create a pattern and then i thought i could evaluate it even more so i decided to cut up different peices and place then on a big peice of paper and get the right exposure 2secs
In my task i decided to re create a work of Matt Slater but i changed the way it look i totally re change it and make it personal and by doing that i chose pictures (landscapes) that i had taken around the school a while back and i inverted them and changed them to black and white. I then took them to the dark room and changed the exposure making sure i got the right lightning but it did take me a couple of tries before i could get the right one and exposure light which i finally did in 2 secs and it was perfect. but overall i think this experience turned out really good

My first thought of the theme was i was a bit unsure and nervous because i didn't really know what we could experiment with landscapes at all because at the time i just thought it was just boring buildings.
My ideas had changed a lot over the times while studying landscapes at first i had no idea but only just to take pictures of boring buildings such as house and what not but during this time there was homework set it was to take pictures off different landscapes and develop your idea and i though long and hard about this, my first take was not so great and miss did give me feedback about the would and she told me to take pictures what landscapes meant to me so i did my research and found out it meant much more than just buildings it means nature and all the visible features of an area of land so i took that idea and travelled to London and took pictures of buildings and i saw while in the car or on the bus and this helped me developed my idea it into ,much more which helped me on my final project which i will discuss much more in the evaluation.
During this projects there were many artists and photographers that i looked at such as Bill Armstrong, Dionne lee, Ray Metzkers, Jon Divola, Charles Wilkins and many more artist but the main one we looked out helped me a lot was Dafna Talmor her work was amazing it inspired me so much and i have learnt so much more i have had already knew she taught me how to takes landscape picture and what i need to think about when taking the pictures and what i needed in the frame and what not to get into the frame.
Throughout out this context I carried out different experiments such as taking different landscapes and making them into a collage or taking images around the school and finding ways to refine them or even taking different objects and placing them in front of the photo the landscapes and much more but all these experiments I've used different material and have helped with my latest experiments. I developed my idea by making it personal to me as did i printed out pictures from my home country Nigeria like from the war but of buildings as is it landscapes and it took quite a while to figure it out but i decided to cancel out all the things i didn't want in but t took a lot of refining and developing an decision making to just like all the experiments took a lot of decisions and what to keep in and what to take out I've had to use my imagination most of time.
There was a quite a few things that changed over the time while doing my work and my projects as well but of the time is was my thinking changed the most i had to think harder than i though i was while was doing my projects but I'm glad it did because it made my think like i was an artist and a photographer to.
The habits of mind that I've used the most has to be my creativity and i,'e had to excise my imagination to and those are what helped me along the way of my constructed landscapes.
The most thing I have found challenging about working like an artist/photographer is adapting to their mindset because I first I always thought the thought like each other but each and every photographer thinks differently and I've had to to learn how to think like one but looking back now I've had to change lot the way by really taking it slow and not rushing my work and that's what has helped me along the way and I've seen a lot of changes a lot the time to.
I've also used my website to record progress such as recoding myself or taking pictures as I go while I think relates to recording my thinking to.k
